Bio

RoAnn Elias is a Florida contemporary painter of acrylic and mixed media pieces. Her interest in art began as a young child when she fell in love with the colorful tissue paper art of a favorite children’s book. The layering of transparent color and the use of different textures are what still inspire her to bring these elements to her often realistic works of art. RoAnn studied art and design at Santa Monica College in California and Georgia State. She also had the opportunity to study with nationally known figurative sculptors in the Atlanta area and in Loveland, Colorado.  She has exhibited her work in single and group shows and won many awards. Most recently, she won the third place award at the St Augustine Art Association’s “Black, White and Shades of Grey” exhibit where it was commended for the composition and combination of the beautiful portrait with abstract elements. RoAnn’s work is in many private residences and the Taanasa collection.
